Know any great cello or violin players?

I'm looking for a CD/musician that plays haunting and beautiful music. I prefer that they play mainly their own songs, i.e. ones THEY wrote. I'm also looking for the kind of music that sounds like it could be in a movie scene. Hope you know what I'm talking about. lol Thanks so much in advance!
