What does it feel like to have multiple teeth extracted and wear dentures, without a general anaesthetic.?

i take steroids for addison's disease, and it 'eats your bones'..consequently i have to have dentures at a young age. i wonder how painful it will be to have 3-4 teeth removed at a time, and what dentures will feel like. Will i loose all taste due to the dentures blocking taste buds? it will cost 5 thousand canadian, and i am not approved to have a general anaesthetic, so i have to have a few at a time. i just had 3 done, and am in terrible pain, swelling, etc. any feedback would be helpful..p.s.-my dentist says 'your face will cave in', as the bone shrinks..i am too young for this, and am frightened of the pain, the aging factor, and how well i will be able to chew, taste food...thanks for any feedback..pinkrainbow
