Why did Quarterback Glynn Griffing of the New York Giants play just one season (1963)?

Glynn Griffing only played one season for the New York Giants (1963). He attempted 40 pes, completed 16 and three three touchdown pes for the year. He only played one year. Does anyone know what happened to him and why he only played one season?
